Frequently Asked Questions
Do I scan the barcode of the product?
No. Foodie Scanner does not use barcode scanning. Instead, you take a photo of the ingredient list and the app detects and analyzes the food additives inside.
What if the ingredient list is blurry?
For best results, make sure the text is well-lit and in focus. If the scan is unclear, you can retake the picture.
Does the app work only in English?
Yes. Ingredient lists must be written in English for the app to recognize additives accurately.
What do the color codes mean?
Green = Usually considered safe
Yellow = Limited data; caution recommended
Red = Potential or known health concerns
What if the app doesn't recognize an ingredient?
If an ingredient doesn't match our additive database, it will not be highlighted. You can still search it manually in the Dictionary section.
Can I tap on any additive for more details?
Yes. Each detected additive links to a full page with its names, description, risks, recommended intake and restrictions.
